Port delays affecting meat imports

A community crime-busting group is calling on residents to join in their efforts to rein in crime.
JOHANNESBURG – Your festive braai may be short a chop or two this year.
That’s because meat imports are being held up at ports.
The Association of Meat Importers and Exporters is calling for urgent government intervention.
It says permits that used to take 48 hours to issue, now take up to nine days and this will drive up prices.
